We As Boys
We as boys laughed in innocence
Bare-kneed playing kiss chase
Shy and saucy behind school bike sheds
Kissing giggling bright-eyed girls.
Puberty spread our limbs and minds
We fantasied and desired
Fresh-faced girls in throes of passion.
As men courted enticing women
Bodies with breasts beguiling
Explored mutual orgasmic fervor
Forging the man from the boy we were.
