We Are American Poem by Randy McClave

We Are American

In my country no one is above the law
Both the poor and the rich can fall,
I love this great land of freedom and democracy
Where liars and cheaters will be caught up in their own hypocrisy.
I love it when judges and politicians can't be bought
And the crooked are scared, because they are always sought,
And I love it when true Americans will always voice the truth
Especially when they are inside of a voting booth.
I love it when the American people put America first
Patriotism, and honor they have truly birthed,
Though I may not be at all a smarty
But, I will always vote for the person, and not ever the party.
I read and I watch the news and I stay away from tabloid sites
I'll always stand for mine and every American's rights,
And if I don't like how any politician have spoke
Then they will not ever get my vote.
I want a better America as I believe so does everyone else
We are watched by God, and not by an elf on the shelf,
We should always be fair to the middle class and always the poor
They should not ever have to suffer or ever have to pay any more.
We are all Americans first and true
We salute only old glory which is the red and white and blue,
And if any other flag waves in old glory's place
Then I think that is a great disobedience and a slap in democracy's face.
I truly wished that we all lived in a real Christian nation
But, some acts and deeds will lead many into hell's damnation,
I don't care if you are a Democrat or even a Republican
Remember this, we are first an American.
