Watery City Poem by Anne Yun

Watery City

Rating: 5.0

When flowers are blooming for a regretless destiny
Someone here is wandering in a watery city
Where rains intertwine fogs, together coat the earth
Someone here is drifting in a confusing myth

Under all mercurial veils they search for an encounter
Knowing not every soul might jumble together
Aimlessly pass by those faces amid the flowers
Stand alone, with breezes' laughter, pure dreamers

Really brilliant poem, so much entwined in just two verses.

Neal wrote a marvelous endorsement for this poem that I can only say ME, TOO! I have felt this poem long before I read it. I have a deep regard for poems that reveal our interior lives and this one does so with amazing perception. There is no trace of negative emotion or disgust with failure. Your poem is about a life committed to the necessary journey we all must take if we are to find our true selves and that compatible other person so that together we can enrich each other's lives and share our joy to increase each other's happiness.

I have wandered in watery cities, searching for meaning, searching for souls of friendship. I have felt this poem long before I read it. Bravo.

Thank you Neal. Sometimes we are like drifters in a watery city :)
