Watching You From Across The Way Poem by Hillary Unknown

Watching You From Across The Way

Watching you from across the way
Trying to figure out what to say
You glance at me
And see
I turn red and run
As I hear them make fun
I shake my head as the tears start
How did I ever give you my heart?
I sense you nearing
But I can’t stop their leering
I can’t face the facts
You’ll never want me back
I stop my dash
And feel the pain like a lash
That cut my heart in two
And I don’t know what to do
Your arm rests on mine
And you act so kind
Pulling me to the side
Restarting the tide
You pull me to your chest
And tell me to just rest
I hear your heart beat
And feel it with my cheek
