Walking In Another's Shoes Poem by Angel A. Lockwood

Walking In Another's Shoes

I went to visit my mother's Hometown
I now have a much better understanding of
the many events in her life
which were never, ever
written down.
How she would often smile,
yet for some reason many times
all I saw was a frown
I discovered the reasons which
Helped her to learned to pray and
continue to keep the faith as love ones went astray
Whether good or bad circumstances were going down
She somehow managed to keep a smile
For I now, so love, and respect her more
For I once was lost, and yet now I found
I walked a mile in her hard- to wear shoes and
My findings were profound
I also learned the true meaning of before one judges another,
perhaps try walking in their shoes
