Walk Through The Gates Poem by Philip Carter

Walk Through The Gates

Through the iron gates I walk with you
To the untamed woods outside
Into the natural world
With you close by my side
This path that we now walk down
Was not part of nature's plan
The flattened grass and patches of earth
Were made by the feet of man
To the left and right is for nature
For the birds and other creatures too
If we keep to the path as we walk along
They will not bother me and you
So stay by my side my darling
Let's listen to nature's sweet song
We are being serenaded
As, hand in hand, we stroll along.
