Waiting Patiently Poem by Mogamat Abrahams

Waiting Patiently

I imagine the birds
Flying freely and so happy
The trees blossom of greens and browns,
The sky covered in white puffy clouds
With a breath taking blue background,
Stretching across an endless solar system
Between scattered stars

I often think about dancing up there
Even just for a while,
Where the beauty is everlasting
And time is not calculated-
To Interrupt wishful being
And rush the moments

I wont look down,
‘Cos there I’ll see me standing-
Eyes pinned up to the rain
Gazing for recognition of my emotions,
Hoping for an ear to listen, a voice to answer me

Is there something, anything to wash away these fearful pains?
A road to some kind of healing
A tool for self restoration
A shut, to the silent screams

How long will this continue-
Battling a war against myself
Seeing every bit of my imperfection in this imperfect world

Have faith i tell myself: The sun again will shine
Embrace the greener pastures to come

Keep on waiting, patiently
