Virtue Wears A Veil Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Virtue Wears A Veil

Rating: 5.0

Virtue wears a light veil,
Vice comes wearing a mask
And gets a ready bail
That makes hard virtue's task.
The mask helps hiding vice,
The veil loads virtue's dice.

Great truth, you're right. In Mahabharata there is an episode involving demon's Guru Shukracharya's daughter Sarmishtha and her friend. They take a dip in a lake after removing their clothes, and when they return their clothes are exchanged. This has a take on what happens when truth and falsehood, virtue and vice, wear each other's garments. Thank you Dr Swain.
