Vigil Poem by Ann Mckeeman

Vigil

Rating: 3.0

from a distance, without one whispered word….
(like a gardener watching the ripening crop…day by day)
regardless of the storms of time swirling …
and the circumstance blatantly convincing through murmured river-like logic…
despite the endless darkness wrapping its wraith arms about my soul
….i wait…
(and contemplate all by the light of the candle that burns in my heart..dim, flickering…
foolishly hopeful…like lilies of the valley in spring….or lilacs on the breeze of summer…)
