View From The Bottom Of The Bottle Poem by Katrina Harms

View From The Bottom Of The Bottle

what a sweet world this is
where i may exist
where i may miss no one
and will not be missed
how dear
without motion or meaning or memory
you wait for me

how blessed
that i may inhabit this secret hovel alone
disturb no one
and remain undisturbed
in my reverie
you wait for me

oh dear sister
did you hear that shadow
did you see that singing
so far away
perhaps a war rages
a lover, he cries
i shan’t be moved
from my chamber of lies

what a dream this is
that my hidden heart rests
in its shallow grave
unawakened
beneath pine needles
how dear
without shift or sense or sympathy
you wait for me
