Until You Came Along (Cavatina) Poem by Gert Strydom

Until You Came Along (Cavatina)

Sweet smelling like peaches or oranges
like a girl's breath,
I have forgotten how nice women could be,
lived in death
with a longing hidden for someone true
far underneath,
until you came along, looked at me
with a kind of serene tranquillity.
