Until The Amen Poem by Ben Gieske

Until The Amen

These days
...............are full of
................................my misplacing things.

I think
...............of something
................................gesturing my blank

I work
................some puzzles
................................and sleep the night through

to find
................what before
................................I already knew

Somewhere
................‘long the way
................................I do not know where

I lost
................something, yet
................................not lost, somewhere there.

It keeps
................happening
................................when I cannot quite

recall
................what
................................I knew back when I was there.

Each day
................between days
................................the word comes to mind

then gone.
................Don’t know where
................................I will be someday.

Still time
................getting late
................................later all the time

Desire
.................always there
................................going on and on

No end,
.................still dying,
................................no Amen yet said.
