Unspoken Words Poem by Ernest Elliot Daka

Unspoken Words

Rating: 5.0

What I'd give to read her mind
To know what she thinks
When she looks away from me
To know the body's language
I'd give all for those unspoken words

What I'd give to read her eyes
To know what she sees in me
When she blinks twice, thrice
To know the contempt and love
I'd give all for those unspoken words

What I'd give to read between the lines
To know the words' hidden meaning
When she idiomaticizes simple lines
To know the true praises and blames
I'd give all for those unspoken words

What I'd give to understand that laughter
To know why it comes instead of words
When she closes her eyes and chuckles
To perceive what has been concealed
I'd give all for those unspoken words

What I'd give to hear the unspoken words
To know whether she's lonely or not
When she says nothing for herself
To know what she really wants of life
Yes, I'd give my life for those unspoken words

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sometimes, it's difficult to know what the person you care for thinks about you. They just won't say what is in their heart. Their words remain unspoken!
