Unrequited Fantasy Poem by Jennifer English

Unrequited Fantasy

Once is not enough
and want is all I know.
I am too far gone,
now he is a necessity.

He's nonchalant
and he's dogmatic.
He's lascivious
but also exasperating.

I think he's damaged.
demons haunt him,
and angels have deserted him.
Forsaken for an eternity.

He's been abandoned by everyone,
his family are his enemy.
He finds no solace in his isolation,
he is the victim of repudiation.
