What They'Ve Done Poem by Jennifer English

What They'Ve Done

They think they're it
They use her for what she does
They can't see how she hurts
They've pushed her away too far

She's tried to hard for their praise
She doesn't know what she wants
She lives for the men that want her
But they could never have her

She's staying true to those monsters
Moods change to her presence
Her mood changes with them
She says anything to hurt them

And she hopes it does
She hopes the venom in her voice is enough to kill them
Slow, painful she hopes their deaths
She wants to scream

'Mama, I won't be coming home! '
The words don't escape her lips
She's the stupid loyal child
One day she'll burst
