That moment when you can't help it but feel overwhelmed by emotions,
Memories taking you back and only for the tears to bear witness.
Trying so hard to fight it off but only succeed to fool yourself,
All the wrong choices, mistakes and pain felt - coming back to haunt you.
All played through in slow motion like there's something missing,
You try to analyze it but only to feel more pain than before.

Trying to wipe off those tears with an already wet hand,
Side to side you wipe but they keep rolling.
Never knew there was a rewind in life,
Seeking inner piece and a quiet place to unwind,
Weathered the storm but only for the wind to throw you off.

Shut down the feelings to feel no more,
Lend me strength to get through this, anybody?
Can't you hear my cries?

Kneel ek langs my bedjie, praat met my,
Tot wanneer moet my hart seer wees?
