Une Apparence (An Appearance)

Rating: 4.0

I am capable
said he
of showing my vulnerability
But imagos of macho man combine the idealized one
An Evocator – a visceral Spectator
The Co-creator - in the parable of the cave.

Hi Ben He has an image to live up to but secretly wishes he did'nt have to conform to society's view of what male is. I guess the opposite is female having to live up to the image of 'good' mother etc. Kind regards Aine

Interesting that he says he can but then doesn’t. Why not? Clever title - he wants to believe that he is what he wants to appear to be.

Machismo usually hides insecurity M Lady. A real man need not display his masculinity it is already apparent

Correct! Men are sometimes forced to put up an invincible image due to cultural or societal standard of manhood. Reality is another thing. Great poem! Perfect 10!
