In Lancashire, at least,
they call a ravine or valley a clough
and say it not kloff or klo,
but klow, as in cloud,
or kluff.

In Scotland,
trouble or care is kaugh
and it's said not karf or kor;
it's said kah or ko.

You can say you walked
from ko or kah to klow or kluff
and have a chance of being understood.

But say you went
from karf or kor to kloff or klo,
where you walked to or from
nobody could possibly know.
