Under The Moonlight Poem by Tony Assumang

Under The Moonlight

The moon so blue
It makes memories of you stick like glue
When I think of you
I feel your presence
Even though you are far away
My thoughts won't go astray
They will keep you close at a distance
Where they can reach for you in a heartbeat
Under the moonlight, those lips become visible
Without hesitation, I will kiss them
Under the moonlight
When the moon smiles down on us
Till we get lost in the moment
Under the moonlight

The moon so blue - usually it is said that a ''blue moon'' is the second full moon in a calendar month, but it is not correct, because a ''blue moon'' is the 3rd full-moon in an astronomical season with 4 full-moons. Thus, as a normal year has 4 seasons with 3 months and normally 3 full-moons each, when it happens that one of the astronomical seasons has got 4 full-moons, the 3rd of them is called ''blue moon''. From here, the saying ''once in a blue moon'', to mean a rare event.. Well, Tony, your title (and poem) made old memories resurfaced.. :) Welcome at Poem Hunter and thank you for sharing your poem..
