Umbrella In The Rain

I pray to God it wouldn't last the night
I crave for your forgiveness
I hope for nothing less; I beg for mercy
With the humility of a dove
And the loyalty of a horse
I'd never tread this path
Hush! You wouldn't know tears
My love is laughter all light
The stars are my witness all right
And my heart beats all night
This I promise you all times
Till the end of time all bright
You'll never know nightfall
I'm the umbrella in your night rain

Of friends, who live within an easy walk,
Or neighbours, daily, weekly, in my sight:
