Uganda Poem by Nadia Glasner

Uganda

Rating: 3.0

When in Uganda
you must stop to see
monkey's living within the trees.

Treking through the Bwindi Forest
Look high and low
Keeping your eye's and ear's open
for you never know
what lies within the forest.

Up in the air you may see
swinging from the trees the chimpanzee's
flying through the trees
as you look down
you may see a Lion climbing a tree.

Deep within the forest
lurking among the trees
you hear a strange noise
what could it be?
Breaking branches and crakling leaves
soon you hear
the Mountain Gorrilas
within the branches of the trees.

They never stay in the same place twice
nor do they
sleep in the same nest twice.

A Silverback Male
big and strong
with sharp black eyes
makes a warning sound.

Sitting in the forest beating his chest
he slowly gets up to leave his nest
beating his chest with one last warning.
