Tynemouth Longsands Poem by Paul Reed

Tynemouth Longsands

Sea breezes sweeping faces
The moon ascends the land
Then descends in lamp-lit traces
Shadowy memories hidden in the sand;

February's mantle briefly lifted
From tough grass and dunes
Watery sunlight carefully sifted
Promising days of June;

An invisible trace
An untraceable gleam
A familiar face
Fulfilling a dream.
