Two Stories Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Two Stories

Two stories

The old days' stories
Had message and meaning.

1.
Camels and caravans
Carried goods, town to town.

Went son to his father:
"Now, camels are cheaper! "

His father kept silent
Son went and came again:
"Now they are far cheaper."
Disturbed him dad's silence.

Days passed, rose prices
Son looked at his father:
"I told you, remember? "

Old man sat in bazaar, on carpet,
Took some cash, delivered:
"Go and buy ten camels! "

The wise and older said:
"Then could not afford it…"

2.
The owner of rooster
Caught a man, suspected
And took him to justice.

"Your honour, he must have
Stolen my rooster…"

"I have not your honour! "
Said loudly, the other.

"To prove, must swear, "
Judge saw the rooster's tail:
"Which one should I trust?
Wrong swear? Or that tail? "
