i want to go back to the beginning,
when life was not complex.

when the government wasn't so big
that corruption seeped through the cracks
between the checks and balances.

and the moon seemed so close
you could smell the cheese.

and time was nothing more than shadows created by the sun.


i want to go back before it all grew to be supersized
and mcdonalds was nothing more than a happy meal
and you could color on the box.

i want to go back to the beginning.
when our love was pure and innocent
and i meant the world to you.

when life was nothing more than life.

and our love was nothing more than
two hearts touching.
