Twinkling Stars Poem by Alison Gaff

Twinkling Stars

As I look up to the deep velvet blue sky
The perfect new moon, it did catch my eye
It sat there just glowing all milky and white
Surrounded by stars all twinkling and bright

Then thin wispy clouds past over its face
Chasing each other as if in a race
The moon was so bright, it glowed through the veil
The thinness of clouds meant it just didn't pale

Many stars twinkled to left and to right
I guess they've been shining all through the night
The belt of Orion is so clear to see
And one special star is winking at me

I look up to the sky with wonder and awe
Is it the spirit of someone who has gone before
I'd like to imagine that maybe its you
And someday in time I'll be twinkling too!
