Twilight Thoughts Poem by Khairul Ahsan

Twilight Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

If the rising sun is an inspiration,
The setting sun is spiritual illumination.
Both spread light, both beautiful in their own right,
One heralds the day while the other brings the night.

If the sun can set in style,
Humans too can embrace their end with a smile.
The sun goes down when the day is done,
We go regardless, whether our life's battles are lost or won.

Ageing of humans is a natural process,
Prudent are those who can take it in good grace.
As transient visitors to this earth, our days are numbered,
May we prepare well, so that we may leave unencumbered!

Our benevolent works of love, kindness and compassion
Shall emit an aura of glow even long after we are gone.
People who crossed our path will keep us in fond remembrance
And that is how we and the setting sun have some resemblance.

Profound writing. The heart that sings " The setting sun is spiritual illumination. " is self- illuminating. Such heart is bright from its own inner light. Loved it. Great poetry. Great images and verbiage.top score

Khairul, Though some will repudiate it, I believe this: 'As well as orbiting the Sun, the Earth is also spinning on an axis running through the North and South Poles - this is what gives us day and night'
