Truth Meadows Poem by Thomas R. Ruffin

Truth Meadows

would you smile for my life
if that was all I wanted?
if that was all I needed?
would you live a while longer
if I could convince you to?
if I could tell you why?
would you not flee from me at rapid pace
if I could only show you?
if I could reveal to you the truth?
could you see the beauty of you
if I could slow you down
and stand you at the edge of a reflective brook?
would you follow me?
would you walk along beside me?
would you go with me there?
would you hold on to me
and you let me carry you
to where you are welcome?
would you come with me
and no longer tremble
to a place where dreams are allowed?
could you be not with tears
so that you could see
what is before you?
... in the Truth Meadows
would you now smile for me?
because that is all I want
that is all I need
