Trees Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

Trees

Natural protectors
Archways to heaven
Is my description of them
Cool green protection from
A blatant world—Trees
Stop and talk to them
I have learnt so much
From their conversations
Both with me and the wind
Honesty, truth, compassion
And the sustaining of life
In every leaf and branch
In every sigh and murmur
Reach out, hold a branch
As you would a hand
Reassurance will flow
Through you.
