Traffic Lights Poem by Soly Nasser

Traffic Lights

Rating: 5.0

On a crowd road, in a busy city
I'm the frozen human standing there
A broken hearted homeless that lost his way to heaven
A pet that his masters' taught him a lesson
Those traffic lights reminds of phases of depression.

God only knows how hard my stay was,
Been there for too long I can't recall
But I remember you saying "I always come back"
I remember it all.
The hope you left in me never faded
It recycles inside me every morning and every night,
The sparkle in my eyes never gets tired,
The smile on the my face never lost it's shine,
My legs may shake sometimes, but heart aches hurt more than knees
And I'm here...
Having a hard time to write this poem.

How can't you see? !
It has been a day since we haven't talked not a year,
I might have a weak memory but I still see you clear,
As all these memories inside me rage like a storm refusing this human change in the atmosphere
And I feel like a a baby that wants to run and to walk
But this poor body only knows how to crawl
As I see the traffic light getting brighter as it turns into red
I'm putting my hands on the floor
I'm raising my legs
I'm destroying all these spider webs
And I'm finally taking my first steps....
