Traditions Established To Ruin Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Traditions Established To Ruin

To delude established foundations,
Have begun with intent to crumble.
Done to remove laws and rules.
Allowed and followed,
By those who took oaths.
As their hands were placed...
On Bibles swearing faith to God.

Then later applauded for their betrayal.
In a display many would call,
Either blasphemous or treason.

Yet...
Disbelieved by the people.
Seeking reason to debate,
What initiated such blatant hypocrisy.

This...
Should be no mystery.
Since deception entertained to witness it,
Is not a rarity to the ones...
Known to have been victimized and punished.
For expecting truth and honesty.
Coming out of the mouths of those,
Imitating to portray themselves...
As righteous doers of goodwill.
And above scrutiny.

When those who scrutinize,
Have been threatened with revenge.
Personally and in public view!
Like a child would do to other children.
To prove whose game,
Is more effectively being played.
For nothing more than attention to get.
At the expense of ruining traditions!
