Toxic Anxieties Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Toxic Anxieties

Sobered.
By the arrival,
Of the meaning of life.
And snipped away...
From the opportunities,
To maintain a grip onto status.
Awaken to see things as they are!

To walk and feel a freedom among the trees.
This life,
And the clarity that a brightness brings...
Bestows an abundance of joy.
Once the trappings of limitation...
Are dropped from the intoxication,
To acquire that which never satisfies...
One who has experienced buyer's remorse.

Attractions to pleasure...
Unmeasured temptations,
To gratify one's soul...
Is a beast feeding on toxic anxieties.

Only those who know truth...
Have it all!
