Touched By An Angel, Why? Poem by Light Sakpere

Touched By An Angel, Why?

I was touched by an angel, why?
In a flash he descended from the sky
While his colleagues kept flying everywhere
In the sky

All of them in white flowing gown
But this was an angel with an afro hairstyle
Dazzling wings
Sparkling like lightning

Boy, I was near blindness by this brightness
It was most frightening!

Gabriel or Michael whatever name you bear
What matter do you want me to hear?
No! please don't even say a word
Mount Everest man,
Like thunder I guess your voice would sound

My composition cannot bear to hear
Already my nerves are wrecked!

Eyeball to eyeball with an angel?
This must be crazy!

Come no further, 'nerve-wrecking' sight!
Say not a word, lest I die!
