Too Offensive Is Truth To Face Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Too Offensive Is Truth To Face

Why is it,
That those bigoted and racist...
Hate to have their discriminating ways,
Subjected to the facts.
They would rather delude as acts,
Of preferences to have.
While doing this to oppress,
Those they choose to keep back and disparage.

Why is it,
Those more qualified to speak...
Of their experiences of being victimized,
Are the ones attacked yet expected to retract...
Comments made to reveal the truth.
With evidence produced only a daily basis.
To have it said by those proving,
They are bigoted and racist.
With it claimed their lives to feel entitled,
Is their birthright to divide.
And live their lives,
Choosing who benefits and who is disenfranchised...
From opportunities they select,
Kept to themselves as they direct...
Who should and should not be qualified.
To live their lives with an equal expectation...
That bigoted racists today exclaim,
They are being frame by others who are prejudiced.
Others to have been prevented,
From sitting in positions to victimize anyone.
Like those who are bigoted and racist teach...
Their children to do and pursue.

Why is it,
This deception is allowed to continue.
When many afflicted,
Can not afford to delude.
Or window dress a diversity.
To fake the appearance of it.
Dismissing a truth too offensive to face.
Yet brings disgrace,
To those who know themselves to discriminate.
Although to feel excluded to do this,
Will leave them to admit...
Their acts have created the conflicts.
The division.
Racial inequalities and confusion they have caused.

Yes.
Too offensive is truth for racists to face.
Although their days to delude are numbered!
