Today's History Is Yesterdays Poem by alex sarich

Today's History Is Yesterdays

Are we going back over 300 years
to ignore a 1601 poor relief act
to recognize all our fears
that it's not fiction but fact
homeless still fight their cause
with no provision just malnutrition
no wonder in their lives a pause
foreseen rejection without admission.

With medical statistical evidence
those times haven't changed
ability wanes losing confidence
promises made could be arranged
struggles through social maladies
an empire of wealth is demeaning
if we cannot bring through realities
stopping malpractice with momentum convening.

Historians who are still debating
when who become involved in malversation
but both time zones are relating
to a change in action and education
will it ever happen this way
we will never know in this life
but will it happen 300 years today
how will it help humanistic strife?
