Today's date Poem by Màrius Sampere

Today's date

Today's date, the moment takes us by surprise,
The preacher announces
That everything has yet to be done.

Just alter the instant, an avalanche
or barrage of obstacles. Look,
it's growing light! Can you see? no universes
are granted, oh no, people.
Life regained, life disappearing,
the illiterate, judges, doctors, brothers
from my demolished school.

Thus, not making, remaking.
And not remaking, inaugurating. We need another world,
another circumference, the supreme ring
of indignity. He who wears it
will not perish: he will die,
and will not have finished the work he was asked to do.

We must also add
Gardens and enigmas.
All the manufacturers of pins.
