To Be Reminded Poem by Ray Hansell

To Be Reminded

I haven't seen you in a while
I know I've missed your smile

If I could just see you again
I know that I'd be happy then

The time just seemed to pass us by
Did we give it our best try?

Memories of you and I
Can bring a tear to my eye

Time alone won't make me forget
Years ago when we first met

I think back to that winter day
It was overcast the skies were grey

I'll always remember your pretty face
Any where you went you lit up the place

My heart will always feel the same
As it lives it's life out in pain

I wish that just one more time
I could hold you in these arms of mine

Not to try to change your mind
Just to be reminded what I left behind
