To Be A Friend Poem by George Knott

To Be A Friend

To be a friend
Means you're there
To the end.

It means when
Push comes to shove
You'll stand by them.

It means you care
Enough to be
There.

It means that
The pack of wolves
Won't make you part.

Their problems
Are your problems
And also the reverse.

It means your heart
Has a place in theirs
Nothing should cause you to part.

It means you have
Each other's backs
When the vultures descend.

To be a friend
Means you shan't
Bend.
