Tin Lizzie Poem by Robert Sheridan

Tin Lizzie

Dilapidated relationship
With step-mom & dear old dad
Somewhere in Fall River, Mass
Andrew & Abby Borden, their
breath – soon would be their last.

Both murdered at home
Is where the heart beat
isn’t – Pa came home
From his usual rounds
decided to take a snooze-you-lose.

Step-mother – 11: 00 am came
was her judgment day
Hacked to pieces in her boudwa
Hip-hip-hooray for Tin Lizzie
Had murdered both in a hideous way.

The hatchet was found – police
couldn’t get a handle on it
Clothes burned, no evidence
Poor little Tin Lizzie was
acquitted - a tragedy in two axe.

'2008'
