Timmy The Barber Poem by Francis Duggan

Timmy The Barber

Timmy Duggan is the barber of the West End
A humorous man though in ways rather shy
He's lived in Millstreet for as long as I can remember
Since he left his old home in Lisnaboy.

Timmy Duggan was an astute greyhound trainer
And many of his dogs named after Bina his dear wife
She hails from Annagloor two miles from Millstreet
And together they have known a happy life.

In Millstreet he is well known and respected
And for over fifty years he's lived in the West End
He goes out of his way to help out others
And to many he has been a valued friend.

On pleasant evenings through the Spring and Summer
In the Town Park at West End Millstreet Town
A man one often see is Tim the barber
Around the playing pitch walking up and down.

In Millstreet every one knows Tim the barber
And around the Town his is a well known face
He arrived many years ago from Cullen
And green old Lisnaboy his old home place.
