Time Goes On Poem by Grace Burke

Time Goes On

Rating: 4.0

I paused for just a minute on the roadway of my life
The path that I had travelled was filled with loss and strife
The distant far horizon seemed many miles away
I wished that I could stop and rest for just another day.

But time waits for no one, so I must journey on
The here and now are but the past, tomorrow's already gone
Will what I did yesterday and what I do today
Help to brighten someone's life with golden yellow rays.

To make this world a better place to live and love and play
Were all I ever dreamed about, a brand new happy day
Now time moves on, my dreams have failed, I will not cede defeat
My time on earth I'll use for good till my mission I complete.
