Time And More Time Poem by Shalom Freedman

Time And More Time

TIME AND MORE TIME

Time and more time
Time and more time
The end is not near
Years are left
Tougher years
Poorer years
Years of greater illness
Years of greater pain
Time and more time
Years are left
Years of less work
Years of less purpose
Years of decline
Years of greater ugliness
Years of more self-pity and sorrow
Years of greater disappointment in oneself
Time and more time
Years are left
From old to ancient
From walking to wavering
From weakness to greater weakness
Time and more time
Years are left
Trying to maintain body and mind
Inevitable decline
Time and more time
Years are left.
