Tiger Poem by Nkwachukwu Ogbuagu

Tiger

It is jungle hour,
This African day
And within the grey forests
Patterns of felinity.
The paws have creased
The lonely paths
And growls have brought
In us jungle frenzy.

Drumming beneath
The foot of the jungle
Regal hides of rhymes
And clangs of iron teeth,
Soothing every forest nerve
This African noon.

Such clout among many
O delicate draping
With patterns of irregular title
Marks of kingship.
