Throughout Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Throughout

Throughout
The things of Earth
And all around us
The phenomena of dusk
And stars and dawn
And all the rest
They flock around us
We have them
They have us
And
Verse
And
Song
Sing of them
Chant of them.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This strikes me as a Poem Of Readiness, Without mentioning himself, the poet is, in effect, announcing he is ready to perform his poetic task of giving voice to all the things that make up the world. I like the way you show people and things emerging from the night and gathering in an indeterminate place. bunched together because they are a community, and the poet is the voice of that community. THEY FLOCK AROUND US./WE HAVE THEM./THEY HAVE US. That is wonderfully expressed!
