Three In Three Poem by Hafsah Temitayo Aminu

Three In Three

THREE IN THREE

Thought he knew him inside out
Thought he's in charge of what goes in
Knew his strength and threshold alike
But suddenly the body says no
Develops a separate head and heart
Probably bred and nurtured in 'its' hands.

The one in the three of three;
Exotic. Euphoric. Exorcist.
This array of exotic feelings
Incited by merely thought, touch or talk
This alien grip of euphoria
Threatening to have a permanent stay
This exorcism of pent-up passion
Released in the most skillful hands.

The two in the three of three;
Exquisite. Ethereal. Elegant.
Came into his world, heart and soul
Stealthily in the dead of night
What it's about he didn't know
All he knows is he can't let go
Even when he fights the soul to give
This has become an independent rebel.

Surrender is all he wants to do
Submit to his will, power and wants
The two of three is glad with this
The three of three is yet appeased.
And in a delicious dilemma he be
Of what was, what is and is to be.

The three in the three of three;
Essence. Existence. Eternity.
The very essence of existence this is
Powerful beyond one and two
But lenient enough to let him choose
The will to lend to craves and passion
Or that which is the summative;
Purchase the hereafter for the now.

Have his cake and still eat it
Have all three and still be saved
"My faith, my passion, my numero uno"
Have heavens come to his aid
Hack the conflicts in the three of three
Harmonise the trio to be a formidable one.
