Those That I See As Heroes Poem by Francis Duggan

Those That I See As Heroes

For to make millions in money should not be what life's about
For in a World of big business the good at heart lose out
And that you may be a millionaire does not speak volumes of you
If to the higher human principles you don't happen to be true.

Those who march the streets for human rights are people I admire
And of singing their praises how could I ever tire
And to those who protest for the environment the toasting glass I raise
For they are only worthy of the very highest praise.

And to the anti war lobby I say how great you are
For to protest against the impending war no journey for you too far
I only can admire you your's is a worthy cause
There's more to life far more to life than obeying man made laws.

It's the people who protest against injustices keep our Government straight
And they are the true heroes though many don't seem them as great
For those who say yes to the Government in everything they do
To the higher set of principles they never can be true.

And all you people who rally in the Town Square for to save the ancient tree
From the chainsaw of the chainsaw man and though not all with you agree
Your cause it is a just cause you stand on Nature's side
For you try to save a thing of Natural beauty that's about to be destroyed.

Those that I see as heroes by some not seen that way
Still they make the World better for living in it by the things they do and say
They protest against bad man made laws and injustices they highlight
And they are noble people and their's is a noble fight.
