This Too Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

This Too

This too

Proverbs are the best
Maybe short but contain
Many words, most unsaid…

When I ran committee
Said one man, elderly:
"This day too, will go, pass! "

Was active and very confident
Knowledge-wise, was infant.

Did not know what he meant
With such a short sentence.

Politics in his mind
He talked of daily life.

Told me to be patient,
In a way, not to say:
"I foresee revenges! "

Wish I had awareness,
Knowledge is treasure
But I was beyond dumb!

Came COVID and will go,
Soon, will be, out of way
Even if not known yet,
I am sure, confident.

In me, wonder remains:
"What is burned by thunder? "

Will people kiss and hug?
How can we define love?

Feel I am an infant
No knowledge to answer.

Sit back and remember
The old man's proverb.
