This New Day Poem by Peter Edwards

This New Day

A new day dawns,
Dew glistens on the grass,
The silence broken by a cacophony of birdsong,
Stars dims and fade as the day begins,
The colours of dawn bleed on the horizon,
Clouds are highlighted by its reflection,
Night dissolves into the trees and is gone,
Looked on by the pale and fading moon,
This is a brand new day,
Never seen before,
When seeds will bud with opportunities,
And daylight will open new doors,
This is the time,
Feeling renewed and energised,
To bask within the light,
Drink in the wine,
Of the delights,
That this new day offers.
