This Caring World Poem by Brendon Kent

This Caring World

This Caring World

'Don't cry my child, 'the mother sighs
her tears soaked up by others prayers
'We're promised food by those
who care about us all.'
'Don't die, my child, 'the mother cries,
soon we'll see the bird that flies
across our land offering
the hand of mercy to us all.'

'Hold on my baby, 'mother begs
on knees that bleed the blood
of all who pray,
'Please God let her live another day
take me my Lord, take me instead! '

The baby's head sinks back in mother's arms
its hopeless eyes and cries now free from harm
as mother screams her shattered dreams
at empty skies, another dies
.......this caring world
