Brendon Kent Poems

hunter's moon-
the eyes of something caught
in my headlights
...

Thinking about when the river meets the ocean
how insignificant one raindrop would be.......

rivers end
...

Cardboard City Man

Let me take you to the passageway of more,
The floor so cold it thaws to words it sees,
...

This Caring World

'Don't cry my child, 'the mother sighs
her tears soaked up by others prayers
...

Guardian Angel

She floats through sleepy cobwebs to the bed,
the whispering queen descends as in a dream.
...

first date-
drinking the conversation
over ice

yet
still
in father's old shoe
...

all of his life
digging graves- finally
he names one
...

Ponder moments
of a dream, a desert sun
as bright as angel's wings.
......some silhouettes on high,
...

It was sunny when we left in the old green Vanguard,
the smell of leather seats and mother's hairspray; father
with his slick back hair always with his window partly
open yet, like mother, never a single hair that moved!
...

summer rain-
many sunlit umbrellas
up and down
...

Last Chance

Cast down thine arms

Autumn Haiku Series

hunter's moon-
the eyes of something caught
in my headlights

passing clouds-
for a moment i too
see blue sky

the stars i focus on much more

autumn chill-
i find again
my inner voice

autumn wind-
leaves on the silver birch
leaves that aren't

the road ends here
and there -
autumn fog

morning fog a robin's voice is all

too close this fog-
my windshield wipes away
some red lights
