This Art Of Poetry Writing

He is the best of today's writing breed
A real friend whose name is David.
He taught me the basics of poetry writing
Still critiques my work and that's inspiring.

As in all other arts there's the fact of finesse,
And the mentors we have share out of their kindness.
Whatever we learn from them add refinement
To this art we give passion for, our engagement.

Reviews help a lot to make us really see,
What elements make up a good poetry.
We are all learners here and correction's a part,
When others review us, it's to improve our art.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
When I was starting to write poetry in 2006, I did not know if my poems were good or not. In 2007 I met a writer/poet David Lewis Paget who was so kind and generous to share his expertise and give me tips on how to write good poetry. He still corrects my grammar and reviews some of my work. Literary reviews are needed to help us grow in writing, we need to learn each day how to improve our work, for poetry is an art.
